Metro Manila At Night

By ProTraveler at 07/28/08 04:58

, Makati: Makati At Night

Wooo! Just got home. I had a tiring day. I feel exhausted and at the same time feeling happy. Happy because I was able to see my friends photo exhibit and had the chance to view the whole Metro Manila from Antipolo City.

I was about to go home around 10pm but my brother called me and asked where am I. I told him I was around Quezon City and fortunately, he was near the vicinity. I waited for him to pick me up and he arrived at around 10:30. Inside the car I saw his wife and my baby nephew.

They visited a friend in Ortigas and planned on going to Antipolo. My brother knows how I love being in Antipolo. For photographers, Antipolo is obviously one of the best place to have some night photoshoot. And since my brother know I will be in the Metro this week, he called me to join them.

Indeed, Antipolo is like the veranda of the Philippines if you want to see the whole Metro Manila. Antipolo, despite of its elevation, is not considered a mountain resort unlike Tagaytay City. It is however a big residential area for nature lovers, and also a good spot for businesses specially if you plan on putting a restaurant with the panoramic view of the nearby town and cities.

We dined, walked a little, had a little photo op, and then went home to my brother's condominium. It was already passed 12am when we arrived in his place. They lived on the 21st floor of a condominium in Makati. From there, you got to see a beautiful angle of EDSA and part of Makati's business district. I really love the city at night! With all those lights lining the buildings against the dark sky! Lovely!

I had a little drinking session with my brother! Haha, it's not everyday that we got to do this. I don't get easily drunk, so I guess it's just fine considering I still have to travel back to Dasmariņas, Cavite.

I went off their building around 2am, hopped into a taxi up to Baclaran. I waited for 30 minutes but there were no bus for Dasmariņas. There were jeepneys but I don't ride jeeps at night, because most of the time sleepy passengers will sleep on your shoulder haha. So I just rented another taxi from Baclaran to my house in Dasma.

It was exhausting, but it was fun. I don't know when will I be able to do this again!
