Though not a very appropriate decision to get into, especially in a very stormy and chilly month, my family is planning to have a get-together party in Baguio on the second week of July. It will be my father's 54th birthday on July 12 and my sisters wanted to give him an out of town celebration since he is already retired last January. For the past few years, he doesn't have any time to celebrate his birthday and we think now's the time to get back for what he missed during his busy days working to send us to a good school.
My sister initially planned on having a Hong Kong tour, but my parents are against that idea. Obviously, they are one of the thriftiest persons in the world. As much as possible, they would not spend a dime on non-important things, aside from my father's old car collection of course that I find not worthy of the price.
So we all decided to go to somewhere we don't usually go, Baguio City. It's a very rare decision for us since we do not love going to Baguio during summer, because this is the height of the tourist invasion. And we are also not good at booking hotels, so if ever we decide on going to Baguio on a summer, the hotels are already full.
When my sister booked a hotel last day, she was stunned to hear that we got to have the best room available. Well, not surprising at all since just recently storm Frank raided the country and for sure, no one wants to be in Baguio at that day. It's a located in a very high plateau, the mountainous Baguio is the place for summer camps because it is the Philippine's coolest and coldest part, with a temperature of 12-15 degree Celsius on average.
And my other sister is also dying to go to Baguio since he said he is currently dating a professor in the University of the Philippines Baguio campus. Lol, I guess she really needs to get married, she's already 29!
My father is currently in Malaysia for the last part of his medical volunteering activities. He went to Africa just before he retired and was very excited to go home. Hmm, it will be another cheesy moment when he arrives. We'll be shouting once again... Welcome Back!
