It's been a while since I last had a taste of my mom's special bulalo. I remember having it one cold morning in December of last year. As always, having bulalo for breakfast, especially during a cold day, will boost your life essence at even your most depressing moment.
Bulalo is one of Cavite's most prized delicacy especially in the southern part of the province, with Tagaytay claiming the title of having the most delicious bulalo of all, but mind you, it also has the most expensive tags for bulalo in the whole country.
Bulalo is basically a soup made out of boiling cut beef bones to reveal the marrows with herbs and spices. A first time eater will hesitate on what it taste like but once you have a taste of it, I'm pretty sure you'll come back for more.
Tagaytay's Mahogany Market is probably the best place to look for bulalo restaurants. It actually doesn't matter where to eat bulalo, as long as you're in Tagaytay, it will surely taste great. But the Mahogany Market is a recommended place since the prices are relatively lower than Tagaytay's expensive bars and restaurants. Not to mention the line of stores selling the loved delicacy.
Bulalo is so famous that even food products label their goods as Bulalo Flavored meals. Instant noodles more notably tries to grab the bulalo loving public with their bulalo cup noodles. It's inviting, since cooking bulalo will take hours, and a bulalo instant noodles will only take minutes. But the real taste of a genuinely cooked bulalo will never be masked by any chemical flavorings. Never.
