Intermittent Internet Connection

By ProTraveler at 07/20/08 00:36

Globe Broadband is ugly? Smart Bro is uglier.

For the last two days, i was having a bad internet connection. i have been dealing with this crappy connection for the last two weeks and i can't stand it anymore.

Here in my house in Dasmariņas, Cavite, my internet provider is Smart Broadband. Back in Cebu I had Infocom, an exclusive provider for Cebu City and I never remember having a problem. The village I lived in currently is not part of the service area for Globe Broadband and PLDT DSL so I have no choice. My computer shop is serviced by Smart Bro and Globe Broadband and so far both are doing good so I thought having Smart Bro in my house is just fine. Until two weeks ago.

I called their customer service (just dial *1888 on your mobile phone with Smart SIM card) to inquire about my problem more than a week ago. They checked my connection and told me there weren't any problem. Crap, are they thinking I'm just making all this? I told them the connection is not the problem but the antenna that is mounted on the back of my desktop computer. I heard it's name is like RJ 45 or something like that, because everytime I run QuickFix (their Quick Repair Service software), it says there my problem is the antenna. They said they will send a repairman to fix my connection wires, and I was happy.

But days have passed and there was not a single repairman that appeared before my house and I'm still suffering from inconsistent internet connection. So I called them again yesterday. I can't believe what I heard from the other line. The man said he will schedule a repairman for my house within this week. OMG! They had me waiting and they need to have it rescheduled? They also said if I cannot wait for it, they I need to hire some other person who knows how to fix this stupid connection.

The man on the other line sound so disrespectful. I will deal with him in the coming days but first I have to fix this crap internet. So this morning I called on my friend who is still a computer student and asked him to replaced the internet wires. He seemed to have fixed it, but I don't know for how long.

Tomorrow I plan on going to the Smart Bro office personally to report this stupid connection and that crazy customer service man. I just hope this connection will stay good for the coming days because I have tons of things to do and needs to be online!
