I know I have just discussed about shopping in the Philippines. But here I am again. Lol, I can't help it! This time its about my shopping experience yesterday. I went to Cebu's central market, the center for all items in Cebu City. Raw products, processed, name it, they have it. I went shopping shopping because I have a trip to Tacloban, Leyte later that day so I have to buy something for the road. Whenever I go shopping, I always see to it that my wallet is in a secure place of my body. It's a common knowledge that pocket thieves are everywhere. I don't usually bring cash whenever I shop in malls, but this is an open market, there is no way I can shop with credit cards so keeping the wallet safe is the first thing to do.
On my venturing around the place, I spotted something I have never seen in my entire life, well at least in real encounter. It was a hammerhead shark placed in a in a big aquarium in the middle of the market. There were two of them and each is bigger than me. Geez, I was so happy seeing them. I've seen a lot of them in movies and magazines but heck, I never thought I could see them alive in the most unlikely place. Maybe it won't be a surprise to see them slaughtered and being sold in parts haha but alive, weee, its fantastic.
I asked one of the fish vendor near the aquarium, she said its been there for like three months now. Whoa, I've been in Cebu for almost six months since I studied here but never did I venture around their central market.
I took a picture of it and its very pretty. It's a bit weird but I admire hammerheads among other sharks. I once read a National Geographic issue featuring them and said they are the most advance of all species of sharks. Haha, not to mention their very cute appearance, silver eyes n each side of the head haha.
I'll let you know about my trip to Tacloban soon!
