
After more than 10 years of waiting, the hit fairy tale story of Cinderella will once again say "Curtains!". The last time the hit fairy tale musical comedy landed on theaters was in 1997 with Brandy playing the lead role of Cinderella and ever famous diva, Whitney Houston, grabbed the role of the Fairy Godmother. Its in this same musical that Filipino-American actor Paolo Montalban rose to fame as the prince opposite Brandy.
This year's version of Cinderella will be topped by non other than the Philippine's queen of Broadway musicals and stage productions, Lea Salonga. The event brought excitement to many fans. The Cinderella production is an international tour that will start its leg in the Philippines on July 29 to August 24 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater.
After the Philippine tour, it will embark on other countries for 30 weeks including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is what many Filipinos have been waiting for after years of not seeing Lea on stage.

Lea Salonga was made famous by her first lead role as Kim on the musical Miss Saigon. For this role, she was recognized the first person in the world to win an Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, and Theatre World Awards. She was also the first Filipino to play the character of Eponine on Broadway's Les Misérables. Adding to the roster of her career is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, and Fa Mulan in Mulan I and Mulan II.
She also played roles in various productions like Annie, Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, The Goodbye Girl, Paper Moon and many others.
