School is officially off, at least for now. This is probably the earliest Christmas vacation from school I ever had. Normally, school administrators push for later dates for the holiday vacation to start, like less than a week before Christmas. The students' petition for a longer holiday was heard.
This is one of the few good things when you study in a private university. When a lot of students complain about something, it will surely be given attention simply because these students are the school's money maker. If these students get too much irritated with how the admin runs the school or how things are going around, they might transfer to another school, thereby losing money for the institution. In short, students of private universities have more power.
Unlike in state or public schools and universities, school administrators have the option to close their eyes and ears regarding student complaints. Also, teachers are more fierce and more strict because these students are not directly paying for their monthly salary, which is actually a good thing.
Now back to our early Christmas vacation. Well, as I was saying, this is the earliest December school holiday I have experience and I'm actually enjoying it. Even though going to school and study is our main goal, it's cool having these kind of vacations once in a while.
And because our vacation is relatively longer than other schools, me and my classmates are planning a trip to Mindoro, for 3 or 4 days. More like a send-off party before we depart for the real holiday with our families because we'll be seeing each other again come January 2010.
Ah, time flies really fast. Seems like it was only yesterday I was opening my Christmas gift and now I'll be opening gifts again in a few days from now.
