The Jaime Zobel de Ayala Fil-Entre Summer Camp For Entrepreneurs was engulfed by heavy rains yesterday in Tagaytay Higlands Resort in Tagaytay City, Cavite. We all know summer had passed already, but the Summer Camp, which was supposedly held during the first week of May suffered multiple cancellations and re-scheduling due to conflicts within the member's commitments. Nevertheless, it was smoothly done.
I am one of the lucky people who were invited for the camp. There are around 150 others. The camp was solely dedicated for the development and shaping of sprouting Philippine entrepreneurs. The veteran businessman from the family that is considered most elite and most powerful in the world of business gave their advices and tips and some lectures on how newbies can enhance their business potentials and marketing strategies.
The camp is exclusive for the Zobel de Ayala Foundation members, fortunately, I was a member of it for almost 3 years now. The camp is in accordance with the family's commitment to make the country globally competitive and to give small business owners the opportunity to expand their businesses through the open franchising system.
The camp also gave guidelines on how to get employees. They gave a list of some of the countries most trusted man power pooling services, emphasizing to give fellow Filipinos to land in some of the jobs needed. This way, you don't only help the economy but also help fellow Filipinos uplift their lives from grave poverty.
In the camp are some government officials like representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Tourism, Department of Labor and Employment and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority.
The camp ended with a dinner party and a white wine kampai!
