One of the greatest activity the Philippines can offer its visitors is shopping spree. While Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Thailand are famous for their malls, Philippines is famous for its open markets. Its like having flea market everyday in a venue as big as three football stadium. Two of these famous shopping places are found in the National Capital Region, they are known as Divisoria and Baclaran.
These two districts are known for having stores within its every corner. Divisoria alone, an outskirt of Manila, the Capital city, is a whole district and has its own facilities like hospitals, schools, amusement parks and of course, shopping spots. It is alive day and night. Bulk buyers usually crowd the place every night seeking low price goods directly from sellers who initially came from far flung provinces of the country. That is the reason why even nearby cities and provinces go here to buy local products from another province instead of going there directly.
But what attracts these buyers more is that the price of each product is usually lower by as much as 80% as compared to retails price in other stores and malls. Divisoria products are 50% locally made and 50% imported goods from China, Korea, Hong Kong and Japan. While Baclaran concentrates more on locally made products.
Both shopping spots have products like fresh vegetables with daily deliveries, garments, household utensils, clothes, machine parts, business materials like accessory making, and a lot more, and I mean A LOT! They are the most complete shopping center I have known.
