The Collapsing Influence of the Catholic Church in the Philippines

I know who ever reads this article will either raise their eyebrows, bashed me and at the very least, agree with it. The title says it all. But for the sake of elucidation, I would like to go deeper with this topic.

The Philippines is known as the largest Asian Catholic country, one of the only two in Asia, East Timor (Timor Leste) being the other. For many centuries, the religion of the Philippines have been a great block, with almost 90% of the population born as Catholics.

But the dawn of the 20th century marked the diminishing influence of the church to the people. Although the Catholic church is still the dominant religion of the country, the rapid growth of people leaving the church is alarming.
