Travel Focus: Antipolo City

By Jude Wallenberg at 04/12/08 12:53

We have talked about a lot of places where visiting is a must especially for this summer vacation. The most popular, Tagaytay, Baguio and Boracay, are for sure crowded by now. But those three are for those people who are seeking long vacations and ultimate summer get aways. But how about for those who cannot afford to leave their jobs or those who cannot literally afford the price of these two? Do not worry, the answer for your question is just a few minutes from the bustling metros.

Antipolo City is famous because of its position. Its a city atop the mountain with lots of restaurants and resorts. The famous Hinulugang Taktak Resort is in Antipolo. The Antipolo church is also famous by its own right. The feature that made people love Antipolo is obviously the chance to see the whole Metro Manila from overlooking spots in the city.

At night, restaurants and hotels in Antipolo are always full because people wanted to see Metro Manila by night wherein it is glowing in night lights. The best part of having your vacation done in Antipolo is that it is just 30 minutes away from Philippine's top business district. Ortigas Center, Pasig, Cainta, Quezon City - all of them are just minutes away. From Makati and Manila city proper it is just an hour away. Antipolo was purposely transform to become the small Baguio. It is so much fun looking at the tall buildings and city scrapers from Antipolo.

Antipolo, I should say, is a very underrated city. Only a few people see how great it really is. As I have myself traveled Antipolo countless times, I discovered it is more than how people sees it.

Resorts and activities in Antipolo are next to be posted, so keep updated!
