The Pahimis Festival - Your Best Coffee Experience

By ProTraveler at 01/30/08 10:58

Coffee is one of the pride of the Philippine's agricultural products. Known locally and abroad, the aroma and taste of one of the world's finest coffee beans are cultivated here, specifically in Amadeo, Cavite, the Philippines coffee capital. It so happens that my family owns a coffee farm in Amadeo, just a few minute ride from Tagaytay City. Every last week of February we celebrate the Pahimis to thank the heaven for the previous year's harvest and is asking them for help for the harvest of the current year. Pahimis, a word from the local dialect literally means "Thank You".

Pahimis is also the chance for the town to showcase the people's coffee products. Street dancing, singing/dancing contest, coffee creativity contest, photo contest and many more awaits you on this grand gathering. The Mardi Gras is sponsored by the country's biggest names in advertising and native product promotion. The government is also showing their support for the festival by sending representatives yearly, the grandest of all is when the President herself, her excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo attended the festival.

The festival is attended by foreign medias that adds international exposure to the festival. And this year, more surprises and more people are expected to come.

So there, I would like to invite you all from February 23 to a 3 day partying and celebration for the beverage that keeps us all alive.
