The Crocodile Farm - Palawan, Philippines

By ProTraveler at 02/01/08 21:28

Being with nature is what I really enjoyed the most. I am a green thumb, I am in love with nature. So when this offer to visit Palawan came, I didn't think twice. It's one of the most beautiful in the country, who wouldn't want to go there?

Upon arrival, we toured the island for the the whole week. We went to their butterfly garden (as what I've mentioned in my previous post), and then we went to the uber famous Palawan Crocodile Farm. Yes, crocodiles.

I was hesitant at first, but my friends convinced me to come with them. And I'm glad I didn't turned down the invitation. It was such a great experience.

We were welcomed by the vicinity's manager and toured us inside the farm. We saw lots of crocodiles of course. Different sizes, different colors with different attitudes. Some of them are playful, some are sleeping, taking a bath in their man-made swamps and some are just roaming around their cages. It's really amazing how cage-takers manage to deal with those creepy but cute creatures.

We even got the chance to touch baby crocodiles. Yay, I really love that part. I held around 6 crocs in my hand all at the same time. They're so cute when they are still young, but heck, they're freaking ugly when they've grown.

I saw around 300+ crocodiles, that's the biggest croc farm I saw in my entire life. And their vicinity seems to be good, they all have the things they need. And you can see good they are in taking care of the place. Really it was a great and unforgettable experience for me. It was a blast that I want to go back there as soon as we arrived in our hotel.
