I had one of my best day today. Saving me from being suffocated of my paperworks, my friends called and suggested we need to take a break. I agreed since I really need a break and also to celebrate my freedom from work, though a new pile of paperworks for school is waiting. So we wasted no time, we went to the agreed adventure, Para Sailing. I admit, it will be my first time. I've taken countless photographs of people doing the act for my photo projects but have not tried it myself. So I told myself that moment, "I should fire at this one, and give it a try."
We then head onto Mactan, checked on the Hilton Hotel and get ourselves ready. The parasailing were provided by the hotel's para sailing department, for extra fee of course. Because it will be my first ever try out of the sport, I decided I want to do it alone while my friends do it with a guide. So then we started.
As my feet lifted from the boat, I felt nervous and my muscles started to feel cold. But as soon as I started gliding with the pressure from the wind, I gained momentum and excitement filled me. I'm starting to enjoy it! The view of the island is even more beautiful and intense from the air. The breeze is even more fresh and satisfying. The feeling, priceless.
Its definitely one of the best experience I've had in my life. Right at that moment, it seems like I was traveled back to my childhood, enjoying the dreams I dreamed of doing before while watching my favorite G.I. Joe cartoon series. I never wanted it to stop.
But like others, it came to an end. It's time to set my feet once again to reality. It was a nice team, and they said landing on the boat after the act is usually done only by second timers, and I'm lucky I'm no second timer but I did land on the boat again.
Today, after 22 years, a child's dream came true. To fly freely against the wind. I'm looking for forward for our free-sky diving next month! That will be more exciting! I'm sure of that.
