In February of 1941, Philippine Airlines was founded and by the following month, it made its first flight from Manila to Baguio City, thus becoming the first airline in Asia.
In 2011, it will celebrate its 70th anniversary. And for all the 70 years of glory, PAL has become the premiere flag carrier of the Philippines. It has earned its distinction as a caring airline for locals and foreigners flying through PAL to its domestic and overseas destinations.
To celebrate its 70th successful year in the industry, PAL will be giving generous offers to its flyers, frequent or not.
PAL will be offering as much as 70,000 free seats to different people who availed of their airline service from March 16 to December 31, 2010. PAL will choose random names from their database who flew through PAL for the duration of the promo period and will give them a free plane seat equivalent from the latest paid ticket they bought from PAL.
Also, ticket promos will also be given to PAL customers for domestic and international flights. As much as 70% discount to domestic and international tickets are at stake. Listed below are ticket discount schedule.

- June 16, 2010 to November 15, 2010 (Australia, Guam, Pacific flights) $470-$700/ round-trip ticket
- September 16, 2010 to December 10, 2010 (USA) $770 / round trip ticket
