I met Martin Zinger yesterday. He is a Swiss national who is currently residing in Panglao Island in the province of Bohol in the Visayas region of the Philippines. He's been in the country for almost twelve (12) years now. He said he is here in the country because of his wife, Kristina, and his children.
It was more than a decade when Martin and his wife met in Italy. That time Martin is just visiting the country while Kristina is working there as a hotel receptionist. A sudden connection between them sparked and their love story began. They started dating each other for more than a year, and after quite sometime, they decided to get married. Afterwards, he decided that they will settle in the land of his wife, Philippines.
Kristina is born and raised in Bohol, a beautiful province in the Visayas region. In Bohol you can find worldclass destinations like the Chocolate Hills, a tough contender in the recent New 7 Wonders of the World currently ranking in the 9th place. Also in Bohol is the Loboc River, a 5 kilometer river that serves romantic cruise for lovers and even for families while having good food and good music.
The couple have 3 children, all of them are born and raised in the Philippines though every 2 years the family travels back to Martin's hometown in Switzerland. The family has also started a couple of businesses in Bohol and in Manila as well.
One thing I remember Martin told me that keeps his enjoyment living in Panglao is its environment. Panglao is very rich in natural beauty and in natural resources. It has one of the greatest coastline in the country with its white sand beaches.
Martin and Kristina, a couple that shows culture barriers is not a hindrance when love hits your heart.
