Totally Enchanted

By Jude Wallenberg at 06/03/08 17:09

, Landmark: Enchanted Kingdom

We all know Disneyland, Universal Studios and the likes are not affordable for common workers. Well in fact, just by going to those locations is too expensive let alone going to theme parks as such.

However, Philippines has one of the cheapest theme park in the world, the Enchanted Kingdom. It's being cheap do not compromise the quality of fun you will get by going here. Enchanted kingdom lies on a 17 hectare plain in the suburbs of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, about 30 minutes away from Metro Manila via the South Luzon Expressway and about 20 minutes from Tagaytay via the Sta. Rosa Road.

For just Php300-400 ($8-$10), you can already a whole day of fun! That's already a ride-all-you-can fare. It may not have characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Goofy but I'm pretty sure you will enjoy the company of Merlin, the old wizard that serves as the park's patron character. Aside from him there are also other characters like fairies, monsters, prince, princess and a lot more. There are also performers in many parts of the park where they play trick, magics, dance and sing for you.

One of the major attractions offered in Enchanted Kingdom is the Space Shuttle, the one that you can see on the photo. The other ride that is really sought after is the Rio Grande where people would ride a circular rubber boat and go along bumpy waves with waterfalls on every side. It's really like you're doing real time white water rafting! It's an adventure that you will really enjoy. But do bring extra shirts and pants, ok? Be warned that you'll get wet, ha ha!

Another attractions is the Anchors Away or sometimes called the Pirates Ship. It swings on each side a whopping 180° (180 degree)! If you have usual butterflies in your stomach, then I suggest do not take such rides. Perhaps one of the most popular ride for kids is the ever famous bump cars! Of course, everybody loves it. People who has frustration in driving especially loves it! There are also the likes of Grand Carousel, Flying Fiesta, Jungle Log Jam, Realto (a 3D Interaction Theater) and a of others.

So what are you waiting for? Be amazed and feel enchanted only at Enchanted Kingdom!

I had the misfortune of riding Rio Grande without taking any spare clothes with me! I didn't know that I would be THAT wet after the ride.
