The Free Hugs Campaign already reached Manila last July 5 2007. The Free Hugs Campaign is a worldwide initiative by the Free Hugs Organization and they believe that sometimes, a hug is all we need. True indeed, we all need some hug sometimes.The result of the campaign in Manila is very positive. It is evident in the video that it only takes a single hug to give smile to other people.
Filipinos are known for being friendly, welcoming, respectful and emotional. Yes, emotional. And a simple hug means a lot. That is the reason why a lot of people participated in the campaign.
At 0:57 in the video, you can see how much love a simple hug means to a friend. That boy was me, hugging my dear friend Amanda, an advocate for the Free Hugs Campaign.
This campaign aims to give and show some love for our fellows, that even in the middle of the street, in the middle of a hot day, or even at night, love is just waiting around the corner. A hug simply makes you believe that the people around you are your friends thus you need not to worry about your surrounding. Hugging someone is simply relaying that you have a friend and that you are safe with me.
The Free Hugs indeed knocked on the heart of Pinoys. And I'm excited for the next Free Hugs Campaign.
