I have been discussing a lot of places about the Philippines for quite sometime, but I just realized this morning why do I have to go and research about different places when one of the most visited place and one of the most sought after destination is right under my foot, Cavite.
Cavite is on of the richest province of the country. It is also one of the biggest industrial-agricultural zone in the country. Cavite also is home to the countries richest towns, namely Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus, Tagaytay, Trece Martirez and Cavite City.
The province of Cavite is also a significant part of the Philippine history. The town of Kawit, in the northern part of Cavite is the place where there the first Philippine Independence was announced by the Republic's first President, the late Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo in 1898. Other parts of the province's historical landmarks are the Tejeros Convention, Mt. Buntis - execution site of national revolution hero Andres Bonifacio, the aguinaldo shrine where the first Philippine flag was waved, Corregidor Island - the last front of the US military during the world war II although disoutes are occuring due to the ownershio of the island between Cavite and Bataan of which the court favored Cavite for its custody.
For the past few years, the great improvement in the province's economic growth was very much visible. Because of its position in the map, Cavite was also the favorite place of foreign and local investors. Almost 70% of the province's population work in Manila which is only an hour away. Some people from other provinces who also worked in Manila prefer living in Cavite because of its cheaper apartments than in the metros.
Cavite is included in Region 4, and is in line with other big provinces called CALABARZON or Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. It is also home to the regions richest town, Dasmariņas.
I will be featuring more of Cavite and other nearby provinces in the next few days. As for now, let me deal with this lousy internet provider staffs. Lol.
