Just as I told you, my father arrived last night. His flight from Malaysia arrived just before the clock turns 9pm. And as usual, hugging galore. Gah, I hate those scenes. My father would hug us one by one, haha, everybody's staring at us. It was like he was gone for a couple of years, while the truth is he was just away for 6 months.
So as the rules say, I am in charge for the night activity. And I took that responsibility responsibly. The destination after the airport? Pasay City's Sofitel Philippine Plaza. It's just a few minutes away from the airport so I decided last night that would be the perfect place. It is located inside the CCP Complex, near Star City and facing the famous Manila Bay.
I chose the place because of it's proximity. The route to the hotel is easy to take since I am not a good driver by night. Also, I have dined at the hotel's Spiral restaurant for many times and I say they are simply the best. Furthermore, I feel home at Sofitel's because the Marketing Director, Ms. Rose Libongco, is the beautiful mother of my good friend Alessa.
The cozy interiors and great food for the night satisfied my whole family. My father simply loved the ambiance and the feeling or being welcomed with red a carpet. Since when did he learn to act a royalty? Lol.
After the great food, we decided to all have a walk on the now defunct Roxas Boulevard Bay City. Although the structures that made the once beautiful alley is still in existence. Bars and restaurants once reigned this straights but the new mayor, Alfredo Lim, decided its time for it to end. The colorful lights are still there and the cool breeze of Manila Bay is still effective in relieving tired souls and body.
After hours of listening to tales from my father, we decided its time for home. It's already 12 midnight and the roads are now less congested and the traffic is less dense. Since my house is the nearest to Manila, I was the first one who left the car and handed the driving wheel to my brother. The next house would be my sisters', and then my brother's house and the last one would be my parents' who are still keeping the old house in Tagaytay.
Obviously, it was a beautiful night, a wonderful moment with my family, and a splendid dining experience. I wore a smile up to my dreams, with thought of tomorrow will be another family day at Baguio for my father's birthday.
