Manila - Casino Capital of Asia

By Jude Wallenberg at 04/06/08 23:00

The title seems very ambitious. But that is exactly what the plans are, be ambitious.

The concept of turning Manila into a big casino city is now being putting put together. The outskirts of the Macapagal High Way, a newly opened road, is now becoming more and more in demand as Asia's biggest shopping mall opened last year in the Vicinity. The Mall of Asia or MoA attracted a lot of visitors turning the then dull, unvisited place to a 24 hour crowded space.

Due to this events, the free land spaces in the vicinity were now turned to commercial buildings and the other will become soon casinos. The Casino Filipino, the countries largest casino chain finally is being challenged by these new comers in the industry. There are already 5 confirmed casino investments, all of them are foreign investors coming from Japan, Korea, Netherlands, USA and the other from China.

The said investments were from expert casino owners in Las Vegas and Macau and said that they will turn Manila to become the Casino Capital of Asia, hurdling visitors from around the world.

It is because the small Macau Island, the said casino haven of Asia, cannot tolerate more people and more business. It is fully loaded and it has long been the place in Asia were casino lovers go, thats why people are looking for some new place to spend their time, and money, and that is supposedly be Manila.

The propose turning of Manila into a legal gambling paradise is being threatened by moralist and anti-foreign capitalism organizations. Morally, they do not want gambling be legal and be a normal scene for the young generations. But I doubt if they can counter the decisions that are already on its way to completion.
