TESDA Job Trainings and Symposiums

Recently, thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) were sent home to the Philippines after the companies they've been working for in the US and other parts of the world closed or some laid off employees to cope with the financial crisis. Some companies were forced to cut jobs because they can no longer pay all of their workforce. Laying-off employees is one of the ways to ensure a company's survival during tough times.

Due to this event, the non-working population increased again. Having no job during these times is a real scary thing. This is the reason why TESDA or the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Philippines' technical and vocational skills developer under the Department of Labor and Employment, holds a series of job training to those who lost their jobs.

Yesterday, they started their job training program in their TESDA Complex in Taguig City, Metro Manila. All people, of all ages, especially those who were sent back to the Philippines, are encouraged to enlist in the program to hone their skills more and have them ready for a new life and new job in the Philippines.

According to most companies, there are a lot of vacant seats waiting new employees, however, most of the applicants were under qualified. Having said this, the TESDA training will widen their working capabilities thus ensuring them on landing to better jobs.

There will also be a number of job related activities TESDA will be holding in the coming weeks.
