Bagong Nayong Pilipino - Manila Bay Integrated City

By Kristy May Sandejas at 04/04/08 23:08

Yesterday, newspapers gazed everyones morning with one of the biggest headline for tourism development.

The news contained details on how Japan, Malaysia and the British Virgin Islands' investment was approved by the government for their project concept of the soon to be built Bagong Nayong Pilipino - Manila Bay Integrated City.

In local terms, Bagong Nayong Pilipino means New Town/City [of] Pilipino. It is also said that the this tourism project is the biggest that has ever been visualized and son to be materialized in the Philippine history of tourism development.

The ARUZE Corporation from Japan, the leading gaming machine maker and famed for its tie with the Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas and Macau, sees the Integrated City to be full of hotels with a minimum of 2,000 rooms for each building and building the biggest oceanarium in Asia and boastfully said even biggest in the world. They would also build a big Ferris Wheel that will be named as Manila Eye, after the famous London Eye. While the Genting Berhad Group of Malaysia, the company who holds the development rights of Universal Studios in Asia, and Bloombury Investments Limited from the Virgin Islands sees the proposed city to be full of casinos, theme park, a top destination for luxury cruises and also hotels with VIP rooms minimum to 2000 figures. They also planed to build the highest tower in South East Asia. All of these concepts will be put together before August and decisions will be finalized before the end of the year.

These proposals may seem ambitious and unachievable but I do hope the results will all be in favor for the welfare and goodness of the country and its citizen. And those corrupt minds will not interfere. I'm sensing that billions of dollars will be put to some corrupt officials. Or not.
