The Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City

By ProTraveler at 03/03/08 02:56

In 1996, an innovative infrastructure was built in the heart of Metro Cebu, in the center of a growing economy. It was the Waterfront Hotel and Casino. The bustling Cebu City at that time is on its way to being globally competitive.

Initially called the Waterfront Mactan Island Hotel and Casino, it went through a lot of experience since the day of its founding. At first it was only a private hotel that you need to be a member of to be able to stay and play casino. But as Cebu City hosted the Asian Tourism Forum in 1998, the hotel was too opened to public. Its the time that made it very famous for having such a great, world class quality service.

The ownership was then transferred to Filipino businessmen from the full control of Chinese investors making it more Filipino friendly. With the touch of Filipino management, it assured the world of a hospitable, superb service for all.

The hotel is very accessible to major transportations and establishments. The hotel design is very bold and artistic. The first time I saw it, I definitely told myself I need to stay there for at least once, but I ended up staying there for a couple of weeks. I enjoyed their service, really.

The Waterfront Corporation, being one of the most successfully hotels in the Philippines, acquired ownership of different hotels around the country's major cities like the Insular Hotel in Davao City, which was turned eventually to Waterfront Insular. They also owned one of Manila's premiere hotel, the Manila Pavilion Hotel.

So if ever you went to Cebu and is looking for some place to stay, consider staying at the Waterfront for maximum enjoyment of your vacation. Trust me, it will never fail your expectations.
